Norwich for Jobs
Norwich
for Jobs was launched on 25th January 2013.They offer employment, support
allowance and income support opportunities for young people. They will be
offered work experiences, mock interviews with real employers, mentoring
programmes and mental health workshops. N4J run other sessions which help with
building self-confidence and to overcome anxiety.
Norwich
for Jobs want the local employers to give more support to young people by
allowing them to do work experiences, giving speeches at the Norwich or Jobs
centre and offer the mock interviews for young people who consider starting a
new job .
The
project offers help for people aged 18-24 and it is built of a couple of
phases.
Phase 1 -
the aim was to reduce the number of young people aged 18 to 24 who are claiming
Job Seekers Allowance from 2000 to 1000.
The
success was meant to be achieved through the collaboration with the local
business and encourage them to invest in supporting young people. They were
suggested pre-work training or offering paid positions.
Phase 2 -
January 2015 ‘Change 100 Lives’.
It was
meant to continue with what has been done in the first phase and to help 100
people who are considered ‘harder to help’.
Norwich for jobs stareded the third phase, which will continue for the whole of year 2018. The aim this time is to "halve unemployment and disengagement for young people across all benefits. We have a particular aim to engage every young person on Jobseekers Allowance and get them back into work."

It was introduced on Wednesday 27th September and from that point they wanted to help over 1200 young people with giving them the oportunity.
They invited local buisnesses to hear about the program, asking them two questions:
“Can you give a young person a chance for a better future?” and “What the Norwich For Jobs Team are saying to employers is together we have already changed the lives of over 2,000 young people: “will you help us change the next one?"
Norwich for jobs aim at people aged 18 to 24 who are unmployed, who are claiming Job Seekers Allowance, jobseekers’ allowance, employment support allowance, universal credit, income support or who are on employment related benefits.
They also look and local buisneses in norwich such as Marks&Spencers, McDonalds, Boots and more.
